WHY ACCURATE MEASUREMENTS MATTER

Understanding the importance of using accurate measurements in pattern drafting and pattern alterations is a crucial skill to develop if you want to become a pattern designer/drafter.

But, believe it or not, taking accurate measurements for pattern drafting or altering patterns encompasses a lot more than the typical, bust, waist, and hip measurements.

So, for August, I feature a four-part series entitled “Pattern Drafting | Women How To Take Accurate

 1. Bodice

3. Arm/Sleeve, and

4. Pant Measurements

In the Measurement Series, we’re going to dive into 4 common fit problems caused by the use of inaccurate measurements.  So, if you have struggled with fit issues with your pattern slopers or completed garments, you don’t want to miss this exciting series!

4 COMMON FIT PROBLEMS

1. BODICE – does your bodice have fit issues, like gaping armholes or necklines?

2. SKIRT – does your skirt show stress lines over the hips or the seams are not aligned?

3. SLEEVES – do your sleeves hang properly or do you have sleeve cap problems?

4. PANTS – do you have problems fitting the crotch of your pants?
