ABOUT ME
I am a master pattern maker with over 12 years of experience in technical pattern drafting and 40 years of experience in garment sewing.
I use Tukacad software for pattern drafting and grading, Adobe Illustrator for technical drawings (graphics), Adobe InDesign for technical writing (step-by-step sewing instructions), and Microsoft Excel for grading and size charts.
I can draft your digital pattern, from your block or mine and deliver it to you in PDF format from a draft, pictures, or technical sketch.
SERVICES
I specialize in complete package apparel development services with an emphasis on women’s and children’s apparel. Sample sewing and grading services are available. If you have an idea for a design, I can help you bring it to life.
My services include:
- Digital basic block drafting – draft the basic bodice, skirt, sleeve, and pants blocks – final product rendered in PDF format – files delivered in letter-size or plot print
- Digital pattern drafting – draft your patterns from your blocks, sketches, or illustrations – final product rendered in PDF format – file delivered in letter-size or plot print
- Digitizing your pattern pieces – one-hour minimum charge
- Technical design – troubleshooting any design issues to ensure specifications, creating spec sheets and tech-packs
- Technical drawing and writing – creating sketches, flats, croquis, and sewing instructions with illustrations, delivered as a PDF document
- Sample making – sew a prototype of your design using your materials and supplies
- Grading – original size, plus three grades, and
- Professional pattern reviews

THE DESIGN PROCESS
My process begins with an initial consultation to discuss your designs During the consultation, we discuss what you envision for your design, the details of the design, the base size for the design, and the grading of the design [if applicable]. ]
DESIGN DETAILS – SKETCH AND IMAGE
- You provide me with a sketch or image of your design to determine the complexities of the design and ensure I understand what it is you want.
- What type of closings will the design have – such as buttons, zippers, etc.
- What type of fabric will be used for the design – woven or knit
PATTERN DELIVERY TIMES AND METHODS
I calculate start dates from the business day I receive the design sketch or image, and we have agreed on pricing.
DIGITAL PATTERN DELIVERY
Delivery time is 3-business days – after receipt of the design and approval of the order – [business days are Monday through Friday]. I will send the completed files via email in PDF or DXF/DWG format on the delivery due date.
DIGITAL PATTERN FILE FORMATS
The client can print the files on A4, A0, or Letter Size paper.
SAMPLE DELIVERY TIMES AND METHODS
The start date begins on the business day that I receive the pattern, fabric, trims, and notions for the sample garment.
SAMPLE DELIVERY
Completed sample garments are sent to the client via US Postal Mail service on regular business days. I will email the client when the sample has been mailed and provide the client with the tracking number. The typical delivery time is 5 – 7 business days. [Business days are Monday through Friday].
