Lorayne Style was created to design clothing and sewing patterns that honor timeless elegance through exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and impeccable fit.  Inspired by the beauty of nature, the artistry of vintage fashion, and the enduring appeal of classic silhouettes, every collection is created with intention and designed to remain beautiful long after trends have faded. I believe that true style is never dictated by age or circumstance.  It is cultivated through confidence, grace, and the quiet luxury of beautifully made clothing. Hello, I’m Lorayne McKelvy-Morris, founder and designer of Lorayne Style.

My journey into fashion began at eight years old, sitting beside my mother and grandmother as they taught me to draft patterns on brown craft paper and sew on a vintage Singer sewing machine. Those afternoons sparked a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship and the joy of creating something beautiful by hand.

My educational journey reflects a lifelong commitment to learning.  Along with my fashion studies, I hold a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Marketing, a Bachelor of Arts degree, an Associate of Arts degree, and professional credentials as a California Licensed Real Estate Broker, Certified Transaction Coordinator, Certified Property Manager, and bankruptcy paralegal.

Every chapter of my professional journey has shaped the designer I am today.  Years of experience in business, entrepreneurship,
leadership, and creative problem-solving have influenced my approach to design—combining strategic thinking with artistic expression and an unwavering commitment to quality.  Through it all, the dream of creating timeless fashion never left me.

Determined to transform that dream into reality, I returned to college to study Fashion Design at American River College. There I immersed myself in patternmaking, apparel construction, draping, fashion illustration, textiles, and design development while completing an internship with the ARC Design Hub, collaborating with fellow designers from concept through finished garment.

My educational journey reflects a lifelong commitment to learning.  Along with my fashion studies, I hold an MBA degree with an emphasis in Marketing, a BA degree with an emphasis in Business, an AA Degree with an emphasis in the Arts, and professional credentials as a California Licensed Real Estate Broker, Certified Transaction Coordinator, Certified Property Manager and Bankruptcy Paralegal.

Every chapter of my journey has contributed to the designer I am today. From business and entrepreneurship to fashion education and creative collaboration, each experience has shaped my philosophy of designing with intention, pursuing excellence, and creating garments that reflect timeless elegance.

A Philosophy of Timeless Style

At Lorayne Style, every design begins with one simple question:

How can this garment help a woman feel her very best?

The answer is found through careful pattern development, elegant proportions, luxurious fabrics, graceful movement, and thoughtful construction.

I believe beautiful clothing should never compete with the woman wearing it. Instead, it should complement her confidence, celebrate her individuality, and become a cherished part of her life.

Rather than creating fashion for a single season, I strive to create designs that women will enjoy making and wearing for years to come.
